Run To Lose Weight Without Thinking!

Believe it or not in this age of diet pills, super nutrition and the cool–mix there are still millions of people who prefer to accomplish things the old fashion way. What do I mean by this statement? Some people prefer natures’ or the natural way of doing things without assistance from medication or science diets. You’ve considered starting an exercise program and thinking about starting to run after work. You get the ok from doc and your off and running.

After three weeks your new found running experience has had enough time by now, it’s just another part of your everyday life. You brush your teeth, you shower, you eat three squares’ and you get your runs’ in almost every day. Your spouse has even considered in joining you and two of the neighbors too!

We’ve been talking about none other than the mechanism for influencing the subconscious mind! You knew your running habit was well worth it, that’s why you started it in the first place. Nature has built man so he has absolute control over thought which reaches his subconscious.

The problem is man doesn’t always exercise this control. That’s why you see so many over weight people of all ages! Especially in the United States! Give auto-suggestion time to work you’re the master of your thoughts. You have the power within, to stay slim for your remaining days. Live longer with a higher quality of life!

Running is widely known for its ability for your body to find your own personal best weight level. As a runner you can safely lose…about three pounds of weight a week. Actually, the problem with runners is not losing the weight, but losing weight too fast!

The question comes up when do you stop losing three pounds a week? Because you don’t want to just keep losing weight?

Here’s the trick. Weight every morning because…if you’ve lost more than three pounds in one day, drink up! You lost too much body fluid in one day. In the summer it’s even quite normal to drop five pounds in one hour. This is good. It means your cooling system is working perfectly keeping those muscles as cool as possible.

Actually each year that passes as a runner you’ll see your cooling system become more sensitive to respond. This is good. This will allow you to become a better runner. Meaning you’ll be able to run faster longer at higher temperatures. The only last thing you need to know about losing weight by running is this: Don’t eat three to four hours before you run. This will keep you from getting sick at your stomach. You won’t even have to give it much thought if you’ll follow these simple how to lose weight by running rules!

Marathon Janis and Jim

One morning my neighbor and I were setting on the porch with coffee after our morning run. Janis asked me candid what did I get out of all that running. She said, “If you could become a marathon businessman as much as you love to run you probably could be pretty good at it!” I said, “Businessman?”

I caught myself when I seen I was getting on my soapbox about the benefits of running. I knew she was right. I said anything in the marathon business world could be learned. What you can’t learn has to come from yourself. That is the will to succeed to accomplish, to not stop what ever the cost. Your burning desire, what it is you love to do.

I had been a distance runner since my late 30s. So that is, what I did do. Transform the road warrior passion into a home business.

Once I decided a marketing marathon business was my next mission; I set my sites to focus on the unstoppable! For once I knew I wanted to accomplish this; marathon business would allow me to work from home. Home is where your heart is at. From where your greatest works are accomplished. With the internet you can be anywhere in the world at any given moment, at your fingertips.

With a home business I could set my own course and work my own hours. Make any amount of money I wanted to. To do my core desire. To do what it is…I love. And, that is to run. That is why many runners run. You would probably have to be a runner to understand my paradigm. Just mold the marketing into a home business with a marathon mindset!

The marathon business, would give me the time, to practice my true deepest passion. 2001 Fort Worth Cow Town Marathon.

In today’s marathon business, it will take that marathon mind-set to win! You win by learning from failures. Sometimes your toes bleed, your side hurts and your legs feel like logs. Let’s do it. marathon business!

Run To Slim Up Without Thinking

I never really thought about being slim until asked for the 101st time! People would come to me and ask how did I slim-up? I would always answer the same way every time. I would say I run to slim-up, that is what I do. If you’re a runner or anyone that doesn’t have any time to work your daily runs in especially if you are trying to slim-up…this is for you! And believe me, prior to becoming an internet marketer; I use to work regularly 50 to 80 hours a week. I never knew what time I would get off of work. I didn’t like to run on the treadmill either, only if I couldn’t go out!

Yes! It’s true if that’s what you have to do. It’s what you have to do to keep from missing any days of running. Because if to slim-up is your goal then this is just what you want to do. Everyone’s body makeup will vary, but I would say it takes four to five days a week of running to keep the gut off! And you will have to work your way up to between two to three miles a day for each run. This kind of schedule should allow you to eat just about anything you want to eat. It’s the size of your portions you have to watch out for.

There is one thing about running that doesn’t last. If you start missing more than four days in a row you will start to lose your slim-up fitness you have acquired from the act of running. What did I do over the last twenty years if I couldn’t run? You can park your car further away from the store. You can run back and forth to the car. You can get up early and run before you go to work. Your creative self will come shining through!

Sometimes you may have to run at lunch time instead of eating lunch. I do see if you’re one who likes to go to a fitness center. You may not always have time for that. Most of my runs would always start and finish at the front door. You might call this time management! I can see if you do not live in a community where you may not be able to run outside. Some of my most favorable running days were when we lived by a park where there were ten square miles of running trails. We didn’t move so I could keep my running grounds.

You just have to give it some thought. To have little chance of a cold or a flue means a lot. To many most likely to not die from a cardiovascular disease, this means a lot too! If your goal is to slim-up and work you daily runs in if you have little time, this all will mean a lot too! I hope this gives you some slim-up ideas from the guy that runs!

Runner’s Imagination Gone Wild!

In my studies with Bob Proctor just yesterday he gave a say that; Napoleon Hill once said – The imagination is the most marvelous, miraculously and inconceivably powerful force that the world has ever known! Bob Proctor also said that, if everything was created equal and you didn’t have to concern yourself about the money! All being equal and fairness. What would you really like to be doing? Where do you want to live? Just let your imagination soar! Write it down on a piece of paper.

Put that image into your mind! Then build the picture! Fill it in! Hold it! So, I got to thinking? And he did say that, if it did not concern money? Everyone is capable of doing this exercise, in their imagination.

So I decided to do, just what he said to do. Write it down on a piece of paper. What I would do? I will give an example of this, in my imagination! I would travel to all the major cities in the world with my close net of seven to ten piers in our jet. This jet would be big enough to carry the whole team of us and our luggage. We would give lectures in all the major cities around the world for all to come and seek our thought and wisdom.

You see my piers would come from all walks of life. And each one their past would be totally impossible for anyone to believe their background and where and what each of them came from. You see I know first hand exactly what the human mind and the body is capable of.

You see I know what my secret is! I know Bob knows the secret of what he is talking about. But I know the secret of what I’m talking about. You see I’m going to tell you the secret right here! And I’m not even going to charge you $12,000 dollars. The secret is, there is no secret. The secret is; to me the mind is just another muscle like the heart!

At one time I could barely walk around the block without getting out of breath. A person’s body and heart must exercise everyday to run marathons. Or just run period. Or just walk if that’s all they can do. If a person wants to do anything they simply must adapt a little more of it everyday. If they want to stop smoking, stop drinking, lose weight or make money or become a successful network marketer! It’s all in the mind!

If you want to do anything you must learn to control your own mind. Control the mind first before you can do anything. To me the mind is just another muscle. You must exercise that muscle everyday with the thoughts of what you want to become. A man of wisdom told me one time, if there is anything you want to change you must mark your progress in terms of each year. I said what do you mean in terms of years?

He said, most people try something new for a few weeks or a few months then judge their own progress. If they don’t see much progress they quit and say, see I told you so it don’t work! The wise man said, if it’s something worthy enough that you want to change it or learn to do it. You must treat the end of your first year as your first day

The first day as I just started would be day one. What he meant was it will take 365 days for you to equip. yourself with the knowledge, the tools needed to perform the task at hand. With the one year under you, now you can take on the world! Now you can accomplish what it is your imagination sought after.

Race Day Thoughts

This is the moments just before the start of a road race at the starting line on a cool foggy morning in April. The other runners are all in their on little world of thoughts. Some are stretching; some are talking to the other runners. Me, I’m trying to not think about anything and just focus on the immediate task at hand. This always seems to work best for me.

Seems funny, now that I’ve run in over one hundred races I’ve come up with the “idea” I believe I will put my thought’s on paper! That thought alone makes me think about the guy waiting for the bus with his box of chocolates! Stupid is as stupid does!

What is on your mind? There are about two hundred runners here. All ages in this race, male, female, even some channel number 5! All doing their own little thing, the last minutes of preparation. They all believe their method is to work for them. For me it’s as if there is no sound! We wait for the gun to go off. And off we go, you can even smell the gun powder. I’m no more than twenty feet away! They even have more noise than normal with all the extra hands far more than needed around the starting line.

This is the whole purpose, to find focus. We will capture the mind of a runner. What is going on between the ears, in their twenty minutes of thought on the course? I try to recapture all the weeks of training period just for this particular race. Though we all are trained runners of a few years at least. You still will focus for a one particular race. Focus on only one at a time.

You know you are well capable of running the course not only the speed you have trained, but the pace as well. Another thing you know you are well capable of the distance because this is a 5K and your weekly long runs have been a good nine miles or more!

The problem we run into these races is, we hear these little voices telling you can’t hold the pace up at this distance. You have the voices telling you to stop that your legs are on fire! Their burning too much in the final stages of the race! All you have to do is to stop and the pain will go away. Focus is what you will train your mind to override the thoughts. You can do this. What one man can do so can another! It’s all about focus! Focus as a black belts signature roundhouse knockout kick!

Focus as the employer that squeezes those last few interest points out of the payroll. They love it! It’s their kill! Focus the surgeon’s last stitch of saving one more life! Focus as the pilot’s lock-on!

Focus as a marathoner’s pace is working from his formula of his track repeats. When he’s learned his diet and nutrition is certainly an equal part in the equation. Focus of complete brilliance when his banked long runs pay off at the finish line…for all to see!

Thinking, Running and The Road

I find myself spending more time these days on writing about this subject. You know thinking. What Thinking? Why do you do that? Well, it seems to be of great interest these days. You know…just thinking!

I never did think anyone would ever want to know these things. I’ve spent into the thousands of miles running and training and just thinking too! I never did think anyone would want to know these thoughts. Because they are kind of private you know. I mean that is who you are sure talking to, in those runs you go on. Mile after mile after mile. For if there is anyone person you get to know …it’s yourself! I never did think anyone would ever come back and ask me what I was thinking about in all those miles.

Especially for a long distance runner. You know, marathoning! Go with your love ones to the races to get a glimpse of him at the starting line. Then you see him coming in from his battlefield…the road some three or three and half hours later. He looks as though he has lost ten pounds since I seen him earlier this morning and you know what? He probably has! You always wonder why anyone would want to put their self through so much pain!

I did ask him at home one time and you know what he said? What he said about when on the road? He speaks often about the road. The road! The road! It’s like it was a person or a something. Maybe to him it’s like a dragon and a beast! He said when he’s out there at times he really forgets he is even human or just that. A human and nothing more and nothing less.

I believe those are the times when he is with himself, his real self. No work, no family, no anything, just self! He mentions that most of us are a product of the past and most never escape from just that. It’s only the few who ever escape and break free into the unknown. No more of the past and find the real you! The one he finds on the road. The other person in himself.

The road is always there! The other all too human thing comes out. And sometimes though I’m not with him, I do love the times… I know when he meets himself. The other self…on the road!

Running With Grace

On several occasions I had been asked a simple question about what did I think about when out there on the road? The answer would be something like this. I can tell you what my thoughts were. Most of the time I’m doing my best to not think about anything.

Running is all about grace and rhythm, smoothness as you glide through the air. You want to be as a bird in flight, as a fish in water and as the flow of sweat dripping down your cheek. It’s a time when you really get to know yourself. I mean really know yourself!

So the thoughts you try are your best, is to not have them when running. It takes away from why you’re out there. No one does much thinking, as long as his habits take care of him and provide pleasant results. Think begins when a habit fails.

A boy must be in the habit of going hunting with his father every time he gets a chance. Let us suppose that he also plays on a neighborhood baseball team. If his father proposes a hunting trip on the day of an important game, the boy is confronted with a problem. One set of habits tells him to go with his father, while another set of him tells him to stay.

This situation does not compel the boy to think. He can settle the matter by flipping a coin, or in some other fashion. Thinking would require him to consider in imagination, the results of both courses in action. He would ask himself, what will happen if I go hunting? He would also ask himself, what would happen if I stayed and played with the team? In this way, he could allow the probable future to direct in some degree his present line of action. We think in order to improve the quality of our behavior.

Thought is the process of examining an idea to see if it is fit to believe and act upon. We can easily find out the consequences of a proposed act by doing it and seeing what happens. But if the consequences turn out to be bad, there is no way of undoing the act. The process of thought allows us to work out the consequences of an act in imagination, as a basis for deciding whether to do it or not.

Run Smarter Not Harder With Efficiency

The efficient runner knows his well oiled machine inside out. He knows what his limits are and what he can expect from his body. His lungs are also one of his chief concerns. The lungs keep the body cells supplied with oxygen. As blood circulates throughout the body, carrying nourishment to the tissues, it gives up oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide.

Every time a runner takes in a breath, fresh air containing oxygen is entering the lungs. The oxygen seeps through thin walls of air sacs, their capillaries and is absorbed by the blood. The blood then carries oxygen to all parts of the body. Waste material carbon dioxide is expelled as the air is breathed out.

The process of taking air into the lungs is known as inspiration and that of breathing out is called expiration. The two together is called respiration. Ordinary breathing of an adult is about eighteen inspirations and expiration every minute. However, a well conditioned efficient runner will be less because his body has become so efficient from efficient training methods.

To run as efficiently as possible we must remember many body functions are going on at the same time. Running, especially long distance running is all about controlling your mind. Control your mind and you will control your breathing. Control your breathing and you’ll control your running. Contrary to what non-runners think, you will not run out of air in a marathon.

Another key element to the efficient runner is, mastering leg strength. Make sure you have enough leg strength to carry you out the entire course of the race. Leg strength is the problem not running out of air. If you have banked your long runs from a six month build up preceding race day, you’ll have more than enough air in your efficient running body. Do plenty of hill work and intervals at a nearby track and you’ll maintain all the leg strength it takes. My ultimate tip for you in mastering efficient running is, yoga should be worked into your schedule. Find a good yoga book and you’ll become a top runner in your age group.

You already know you must run as relaxed as possible. You’re constantly doing checks and balances as you’re going through various stages of the race. If you turn on too much speed, you take a chance of not having enough strength for a strong finish. If you go too slow the competitors on your heals will pass you up!

A efficient master runner is in total focus between his breathing, hand height, pacing, comfort, rhythm, foot height off the ground and stride length. He’s in tune with where he’s at on the course and among the other runners.

Visualation has always worked for me and piers before me. Run these races in your own mind and where you want to be a various stages in the race numerous times before race day. Run the race you have trained for by “running your race” and not that of the other runners in the race. Though you’re in a field of hundreds or thousands of other runners, you must not be influenced by their tactics. Here’s to you being, an efficient runner!

To Get Faster You Must Train a Little Faster

Runners know that in order to improve our times on race day we must stress ourselves in training sessions. Breaking up the training in bits and pieces then on ran day you put it all together. This makes the muscles to grow stronger. Rest must be worked into our program or we’ll set ourselves up for injuries. A injuries is a bad thing for runners because if you have to lay off because of an injury, that takes away from training time!

Missing training days ruins our clock time at the finish line. All because we didn’t stick to the program. For this very reason many people have a coach or a mentor if you can afford one. However, I never did. When I was able to afford one, by that time I had trained myself for so many years, I didn’t need one by then and nor will you.

Long runs or track days must be followed by easy days in which the distance or pace is reduced. Also in addition rest weeks should be worked into your training every third or fourth week. Now this does not mean to stop running, but means light running on your easy week.Every ones easy is different. My easy was a four miler at 7:50 pace, one each week. This gives your muscles a chance to caught up from the slight stressing you must do in order to improve. Some like to say “stepping out” of the box.

Improvement is based on the length of your long runs and the quality of your speed work. By running easy between these two formula runs and one quality pace day will get you in the winners circle more than most. My pace day was a four miler at a 7:00 minute pace. Your pace day is not as fast as a race pace but faster than a long run pace for a controlled distance. Pace days are very important. They teach you and make you to be able to run a faster race pace. All these tips should allow you to recover faster, rebuild muscles stronger and avoid injury.

The skeletal muscle cell is as follows: There is an external membrane, the sarcolemma, inside of which there are bundles of fibers. Also inside the muscle cell are the mitochondria, the power plants of the cell which break down fuel from food into usable energy. Exactly what happens when the muscle is overstressed is generally capable of performing the amounts of work they have been accustomed to during the previous seven to fourteen days.

Your recent training has developed to a certain fitness level. If you push yourself beyond this level, you strain the horses that do all the actual work, the individual muscle cells.

Cells pushed beyond their capacity are damaged with tears in the membranes. The mitochondria within the cells become swollen and glycogen, the fuel stored within the mitochondria, is often almost depleted. In runners terms you see all too often after a race if your limping around several days after wards you pushed yourself too hard! This is very easy to do.

On race day with all the excitement and the thrill of competition, cheering at the finish line, music, fans, you see the picture! But don’t…only run your race! Run the race you have trained yourself for and you will recover well so that you can even run a race next weekend if you like. Push yourself too far and you will come up lame every time! You may be off for many weeks, if not months. Follow your on rules.
